2022Spiritual – Emotional Wellness by Janet Mackins

We believe utilizing four aspects of the Dimensions of Wellness and providing the Wellness Way of Life Assessments are the best way to “Experience Emotional Wellness in Inspiring New Ways” support and serve the underserved, low-income elderly, and their caregivers in our community.  Overall, the key things that the participants learned was to encourage themselves through positive affirmations, to believe in themselves and gain more power towards emotional well-being.

SILVER CITIZENS SOCIAL WELLNESS…

Silver Citizens Social Wellness Program:  To educate, engage and empower older adults and caregivers to participate through the arts and cultural experiences with a network of old and new acquaintances experiencing a similar aging lifestyle journey; in a friendly and safe environment designed for sharing positively uplifting comedy and entertainment.

Our mission is to help combat social isolation and loneliness among under-served older adults, veterans, and unpaid caregivers, where they can be influenced by culture and the arts through social wellness programming.

Silver Citizens Social Wellness Program is the tools to help combat social isolation and loneliness among older adults and family caregivers, as well as to enhance early stage memory loss, and to provides the opportunity for family caregivers and the elderly to get outside the walls of their home to be educated, engaged and empowered to enhance and enrich better quality of life.

Strong relationships are a significant component to improve and extend quality of life.  When laughter is shared people are bound to connect socially.  However, early stages of memory loss participants may not remember the people they meet nor what was said, but they will remember how they felt.

We find that both, family caregivers and elderly loved ones need an opportunity to escape outside the walls of their homes to meet, connect and build relationships with other people and be engaged in socialization and laughter.
