Janet Y. Mackins is the founding owner and manager of Mind-Body-Soul-Connection LLC.  She is dedicated to make a difference in the lives of older adults; she aims to enrich and empower seniors to take control of their health and live life to the fullness with disability and early stage memory loss.

Gerontologist – specialize in the field of aging related dimensions of wellness over life expectancy among older adults.  She is the Founder/President of Mind-Body-Soul Connection LLC.  For more than 10 years she has been serving aging senior citizens; served as a Caregiver, Certified Home Health Aide, and a Senior Socialization and Wellness Coordinator.  She is a passionate advocate for seniors, and volunteer as an Ambassador for the Marion County Council On Aging.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Gerontology from Ball State University, Indianapolis, Indiana.

With over 10 years’ experience serving the aging population. She previously served for 2 1/2 years as Senior Socialization & Wellness Coordinator for the John H. Boner Community Center (JHBCC). While there, she provided event planning services and motivational speaking related to the seven dimensions of wellness.

Passion for Wellness
With a great passion for the physical and emotional well-being for the aging population, Ms. Mackins voluntarily facilitates a monthly wellness activity program at Pennwood Senior Living Apartment, instruct the Silver Sneakers exercise program at the Chase Near Eastside Legacy Center, she is a Senior Ambassador for Marion County Council on Aging where she provides resources to local senior centers, senior communities, and churches.

Ms. Mackins has experience providing care to senior adults with mild to moderate cognitive impairment, early memory loss, and is a certified Home Health Aide through CareGivers 2 Personal Care Service, and also maintains CPR and first aid certification through ACLS Lab/IUSD Training Center; and she is a member of the Indy Chamber Ambassadors.

Ms. Mackins remains very active within her community to enable the growth of partnership with the surrounding universities to provide internship programs for students majoring in Gerontology and Business. She strives to achieve excellence not only in developing herself, but also to help improve the quality of life of senior citizens and family caregivers.
