The physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of oneself must be in balance for optimal well-being.  As we know, no one’s life is perfect.  We all have difficult situations, health challenges, hard times and losses to deal with.  An important difference is in how we all reacts to what happens during life challenges, knowing we all have a choice in how we respond in a given situation empowers us to choose what is good for us.

We can decide how we will get our needs met, as we recognize and accept our weakness.  Work in synergy with others and together we can do great things.  Build on others strength and compensate for weakness.

Dare to let others know how you wish to be treated and what you will and will not accept.   As we are more attentive to our self-worth, only we can set boundaries and goals for ourselves.

  • To enrich a better quality of life and enhance a balance lifestyle for  daily healthy living, we much be aware of oneself worth.  Know what matters most in ones’ life.

  • When  any aspect of “oneself” is out of balance, it will let you know.   To be attentive, we much:

    • Be aware of your emotions –

      • Pay attention to which people or activities cause you to feel happy, loving and connected with self-worth and others.

      • Be aware of yourself and accept a wide range of feelings in oneself and others.

      • Know what create feelings of anger, fear and/or depression.

      • If you just want to happy, don’t get stuck in the negative feelings.  Open up your heart and say “yes” to happiness.

    • Be aware of your thoughts –

      • What are your thoughts that makes you smile and feel good?

    • Be aware of your spiritual condition –

      • What causes you to feel inner peace, joy, a sense of spiritual well-being that is right with living a purposeful life?

      • Be aware of the intuitive thoughts which guide you to your highest authentic self and bring the gift of creativity.

      • Managing your life in personally rewarding ways, and taking responsibility for your actions will help you see life as an exciting, creative adventure.

The model associated with aging in place includes social, emotional, spiritual, and physical wellness acts and interacts in a way that contributes to emotional wellness and a better quality of life.

  • Physical Wellness

    • The ability to maintain a healthy quality of life that allows daily activities without undue fatigue or physical stress, and to recognize behaviors that have a significant impact on wellness and adopting healthful habits, while avoiding destructive habits.

  • Social Wellness

    • The ability to relate to and connect with other people and maintain positive relationships.

  • Spiritual Wellness

    • The ability to establish peace and harmony, and to realize a common purpose that binds creation together.

  • Emotional Wellness

    • The ability to understand ourselves and cope with challenges of life and share feelings of anger, fear, sadness or stress; hope, love, joy and happiness in a inspirational manner.

      • Involves being attentive to your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, whether positive or negative.

      • Implies the ability to be aware of and accept our feelings, rather than deny them, and having an optimistic approach to life, enjoying life despite its occasional disappointments and frustrations.

      • The emotionally well person maintains satisfying relationships with other, and the ability to cope effectively with stress.

  • Intellectual Wellness

    • The ability to open the mind to new ideas and experiences that can be applied to personal decisions, group interaction, community betterment, and to learn new concepts in pursuit of lifelong learning.

  • Environmental Wellness

    • The ability to recognize our own responsibility for the quality of the air, the water and the land that surrounds us, and to make a positive impact on the quality of our environment, home, communities and planet.

  • Occupational Wellness

    • The ability to get personal fulfillment from working a job or volunteering while maintaining balance lifestyle, and making a positive impact in the workplace and in society.
